Karon Sullivan
Marketing and Development Officer

Karon Sullivan, Marketing and Development Officer, has over 15 years experience in marketing and sales in the Continuing Care Retirement Community industry and nearly 2 years experience in development. She came to St. James Place as Director of the St. James Place Foundation where she developed the Foundation's informational brochures, established the legacy and levels of giving programs, commissioned the donor wall of recognition, worked with the Board on a comprehensive general fundraising campaign, launched the DuPlantier Oak Walk and brought a much heightened awareness of the Foundation that resulted in several bequests and donations. Karon's success in this position led to her promotion as Marketing and Development Officer. In addition to her work with the Foundation, she oversees the Community Relations and Health Services marketing staff at St. James Place, working with them to enhance sales and marketing performance in an ever-changing climate of challenges. Karon's passion to deliver the best and most ideal product possible is what drives her to insist on solid success through constant analysis and problem solving.

Karon's expertise in the Continuing Care Retirement Community industry includes helping two under-performing communities reverse their paths from imminent failure to success. She led both Air Force Village West in Riverside, California, and the prominent Bay Area life care community San Francisco Towers to sales levels required for bonding. Episcopal Homes Foundation, the sponsor of San Francisco Towers, asked her to repeat the performance with St. Paul's Towers, a then-failing 30-year old high rise in Oakland. By pushing an urgent overhaul of all systems, dramatic and immediate results were achieved, and the census rose to 95%. A recognized expert in rescuing failing projects, Karon was invited by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging to be a speaker at their international conference in 2005.
