John Graham
President and CEO

John Graham, President and CEO, leads St. James Place with 15 years of experience in senior services. John came to St. James Place in 2003 as the Chief Operating Officer and was named President and CEO in 2005. He has been key to the financial and operational success of the community, and spearheaded the development of a mission-oriented, resident-centered culture at St. James Place. John has a proven record of expertise in opening and establishing new assisted living communities which involved overseeing the construction, staffing, sales and marketing of the communities. John opened Summerville Assisted Living in Kenner, Louisiana, in 1999 and served as the Director of Marketing. In 2000 he opened Sunrise Senior Living at Bayou St. John in New Orleans. He was the Executive Director of that community and earned the President's and Chairman's Clubs designations for the exceptional operational excellence of the community.

John's passion for the senior adult population focuses on retirement communities where both the mission and financial margins are achieved. His background of working in a publicly traded, global senior living company, as well as a not-for-profit faith-based community makes him keenly aware that quality resident-centered care cannot be achieved without both of those elements. John is at the forefront of industry thinking, as demonstrated by the cutting edge programming he has initiated at St. James Place in the areas of senior lifestyle and fitness, memory care and non-institutional nursing models.

Having received a degree in Business Administration and Marketing Management from the University of Southern Mississippi, John's professional experience also includes restaurant/hospitality management, banking, human resources and senior advocacy/legislative policy. He was voted man of the Year by the Central Metairie AARP in 1998 for his dedication to the senior population in the state of Louisiana. He has held various positions within national and state senior advocacy organizations, including serving as the Secretary of the Louisiana Assisted Living Association. He has also been a delegate to the National Council on Aging, a coalition of consumer organizations representing senior adult consumers. John currently serves on the Board of the Gulf States Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.
