Gwen Moore, Ph. D.
Director of Community Relations

Dr. Gwen Moore received her Doctorate in Developmental Psychology from Louisiana State University with a concentration in Gerontology. Gwen fosters community awareness of the lifestyle and life care benefits offered by St. James Place, develops referral networks and assists prospective residents in making informed decisions about their future. She brings an extensive background in working with seniors and their families through multi-disciplinary geriatric assessment, adult day health care and long term care. Gwen also has experience in training and organizational development and provides aging sensitivity training at St. James Place as part of our new employee orientation and continuing education programs.

Gwen served on the Board and was previously employed as Program Director of Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area, providing education, developing new programs, writing grants and facilitating caregiver support groups. While serving as President of the Board when the current agency was established, Gwen played an integral role in the agency's growth and development. She was honored as being the first recipient of the Angel for Alzheimer's Award. Currently, Gwen serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Capital Area Agency on Aging, an organization that administers and/or provides meals, prescription assistance, education and elderly protective services in a 10 parish region.
