You deserve a fine dining experience, every single day

It’s been said that Louisianians “live to eat”!  That’s true and many potential residents express concern about eating in the same place, every single day.  We understand that concern and have made it our goal to ensure that each time you eat a meal at St. James Place, it is a satisfying and memorable experience.

Quality --  This means that our meals are of the same caliber you would expect from a good restaurant. Our chef understands the importance of creating interesting, upscale food choices, as well as the more "down-home" kind. Residents serve on the "dining services committee" and provide constant input to our chef, concerning the residents' wishes and suggestions.

Variety – As a resident of St. James Place you need not worry about getting bored by eating in the same place each day.  You have a choice of two dining rooms.  The Duplantier Dining room offers full-service and an extensive menu.   The Le Petit Carre in the St. James Square offers a buffet-style dining experience.  The menu in Duplantier is rotated frequently and the menu in Le Petite Carre is different each day.

Flexibility – Few CCRCs offer the flexibility of the St. James Place dining plan. First, you don't "sign on" for any particular dining room or for any particular meal. On any given day you simply decide which of the three meals you'd like to eat (breakfast, lunch or dinner) and in which of the two dining rooms you'd like to eat, and then show up! You'll have one meal credit for each day of the month. If you miss a meal, that means you're entitled to eat two meals on some other day, or use it to treat a guest. If you'd rather not eat in the dining room, just call ahead and have your meal boxed up. You'll pick it up at the dining room, or (for a small fee) have it delivered to your residence.

Guests – your guests are welcome at any time.  Charges for their meals will be reflected on your monthly statement (unless you are using one of your meal credits.)
