It’s been said that Louisianans “live to eat”! That’s true, and many potential residents express concern about eating in the same place every single day. We know how important quality, variety and healthy meals are, and have made it a priority to ensure that each time you eat a meal at St. James Place, it is a satisfying and memorable experience.
Our DineWell offerings combine healthy nutrition with culinary flair and great taste! In addition, dieticians are on staff to assist with special dietary needs.

Delightful Surprises Are Always On the Menu
It’s up to you! Choose restaurant elegance in the Duplantier Restaurant, or opt for a more laid-back dining experience with the buffet at Le Petit Carre’ in the St. James Square. The menu at the Duplantier Restaurant is rotated weekly, and at Le Petit Carre’, it’s different each day.
Either way, you can expect the unexpected, with Menus as varied as they are mouth-watering. It’s in the little touches, like the Chef cooking a specialty dish right in the dining room, or one of our surprise Gourmet Nights. And, it’s in the big events, including private parties of all sizes, with catering menus from our Chef’s and Residents’ favorites.

- Your monthly fee includes a Choice Account for meals that can be used in either of our two residents or to purchase food items in the MarketPlace. You can also use your Choice Account to treat a guest to a meal!
- If you don’t eat all your meals per month (one per day), feel free to double up and use the unused meals during that month for extra meals or order your extra meal to go.
- The special Sunday buffet in the Duplantier is sumptuous, a special favorite for visiting families and friends.
- Buffet cuisine for casual dining is prepared at Le Petit Carre’ with specialties, such as catfish, sandwiches, and more, with some selections made to order.
- Superb daily breakfasts and lunches are available, plus optional extra meals anytime at a reasonable charge.
- Get a To Go meal if you will be away at the theater, opera, ballet, symphony, play, or just wish to watch your favorite TV show comfortably tucked into your favorite chair at home. Just call ahead and have your meal boxed up - You'll pick it up at the restaurant, or (for a small fee) have it delivered to your residence.
Guests – your guests are welcome at any time. Charges for their meals will be reflected on your monthly statement.
