- Balance Class: Widely appealing to most members, this class focuses on increasing balance and coordination through the strengthening of core muscle groups and simple balance exercises.
- Sculpt & Tone: For intermediate to advanced participants, the class includes stretching, exercising major muscle groups, and utilizing hand weights ranging from 1 to 10 pounds, hand balls and sponge balls while challenging participants to increase their range of motion and strengthen muscles and joints.
- Yoga: Yoga integrates the mind and body through low-impact stretching and strengthening using gentle, fluid movements. This floor based routine is intended to increase flexibility and promote relaxation.
- Active Stretching: Very popular, the class promotes increased flexibility, hand-eye coordination, and strengthens abdominals, improves posture, mental focus and control.
- Water Aerobics: Open to just about anyone who can physically enter the pool. Aquacise allows the participant to easily incorporate a full range of motion for all muscle groups and joints. The buoyancy achieved in water makes it easier to lift arms and legs to certain positions. This class also increases flexibility as well as toning and the strengthening of muscles and bones.
- Walk-N-Talk: Many enjoy the regular, organized group walk around St. James Place campus while socializing with their fellow walkers.
- Deep Stretching: Most members can participate in this class because it provides a mixture of exercises including Ball-n-Balance, Yoga, Pilates and deep breathing. Participants can also choose to do their regimens while sitting in a chair.
- Tai Chi: Tai Chi is a slow, dance-like exercise that creates balance, flexibility and calmness. With an emphasis on deep breathing and using mental imagery, Tai Chi integrates mind with body, and is very effective at relieving stress and promoting well-being and inner peace.
- Total Body Conditioning: This class targets strengthening every major muscle group while keeping you in your “Fat Burning” zone. This class is appropriate for participants of all levels of conditioning, from de-conditioned to the experienced athlete.
- Cardio Chisel: Cardio Chisel is a high-intensity, fat-burning cardio class that will help you lose weight and improve heart health. Recommended for those accustomed to strenuous aerobic exercise.
